Teaching Experience

I teach in Chemistry for KS3, GCSE and A level examinations, as well as Physics, Biology and Mathematics to a KS3 level.

I graduated from Imperial College London, with a Masters in Catalysis and Chemical Engineering.

In between my studies, I have also worked as a research scientist which influenced my decision to continue with research in academia and undertake a PhD at Warwick University in Engineering (Battery Materials).

I have worked with children from the ages of 4-16 for several years at a children's camp. This has given me the optimal skills to engage with a wide range of ages and how to keep a child's interest at the forefront of education.

I understand what it is like to struggle in a subject and have people tell you, you are not good enough. I believe patience and perseverance are the two best attributes when teaching and learning at any level.

About Nickil S

The words people would use to describe me would be ‘avid technology enthusiast’ and ‘a bit of a nerd’! In my spare time, I like building things, whether it be DIY work or repairing equipment. I also love music and sport. My favourite sport is a bit unusual, as I do archery. I have been doing this for over 10 years now and I love the thrill of reaching my targets (pardon the pun!) and helping others do the same.

Learning for me should always have a practical implication. I strive to teach others by helping them realise, that even subjects at GCSE can help them in day-to-day life whilst also securing top marks!
